Finding an exact match for an old lock is not always possible, as only a limited amount of sizes are now made. |
Rounded Furniture Locks are a widely used 20th century style used on drawers and doors hinged on left. Their polished steel construction and light weight are authentic to the late 1800’s into the 1900’s. These are an early style “machine” lock easily installed in mortises cut by routers or machinery. The lock has an angled selvedge edge seen on many furniture pieces from this time frame. Strike not included as not required.
This is a very reasonably priced lock, as such: locking mechanism is average, not as smooth as finer made brass locks, yet is serviceable. Made in Asia. If using on doors please select according to side door is hinged on.

Replacing Half Mortise Locks
Keyhole location measurement is critical. Replacement lock-keyhole-location must match location of keyhole in furniture.
To measure: easiest to measure old lock, if you have it:
- Lock Keyhole Location: distance between selvedge-edge – where bolt shoots through, to lock pin. This measurement is known as the backset.
- Furniture Keyhole Cutout Location: distance between furniture-edge to estimated location of lock pin in furniture keyhole.
