Cheval Mirror Screws enable mirrors to hang and swing from two standards. Mirror is easily tilted to various angled or straight positions. Outside edges of mirror decoratively display bow-ends, adding interest to the overall appearance of the cheval mirror.
Bow-ends, spacers and thread inserts are brass. Finish is antiqued to look old. Unlike others, these Cheval mirror screws have smooth steel stems with threaded ends. The smooth steel portion is an advantage as it won’t abrade mirror frame.
Install Cheval Mirror Screws
- Determine mirror screw placement. Typically 3″-4″ above center height of cheval mirror.
- Drill 3/8″ hole in each side-end of mirror frame. Depth of hole must be deep enough to allow stem to protrude past insert. Screw insert busing into hole.
- Drill 9/32″ hole, through each side-standard, at hanging location. Allow clearance space between bottom of mirror and standard base.
- Insert steel stem through standard, through spacer and into insert-bushing. Stem can be cut to shorter length if needed.
- Screw stem into insert in mirror. Carefully tighten so as not to crack mirror.
- Adjust mirror to preferred position
